Benefit Auction for the Lowcountry Open Land Trust and

Historic Charleston Foundation

For nearly a century—spanning from 1915 to 2011—Mrs. Farrow lived on Ashem Farm located in Charleston, South Carolina and from 1947 to 1984, she and her family had also resided in downtown Charleston at the historic William Gibbes House (64 Broad St). The items to be auctioned  including signed and autographed books, antique furniture, original art by Alfred Hutty, Anna Lyle Viser, Corrie McCallum, Ann Worsham Richardson & other well-known artists, ceramics, sterling, fine linens, metalwork, equestrian and farm tools — were collected, used, and admired by Mrs. Farrow and her husband Ashby. Many of the objects in this sale descended in the Ravenel and Roebling families. Mrs. Farrow’s husband was the  grandson of Cornelia Witsell Farrow Roebling, whose first husband was Ashby Stark Farrow (1863-1896) and second husband was Washington Augustus Roebling (1837-1926), best known for his work on the Brooklyn Bridge. The couple inherited items from the Roebling branch of the family, including linens, signed books, and a Louis Vuitton Trunk belonging to Cornelia Witsell Farrow Roebling. This estate includes many  rare and seldom seen heirlooms brought to auction.

Absentee & Phone bidding are available.
